See All ReviewsI used to live in Austin and Sushi Junai downtown was my FAVORITE all-you-can-eat sushi restaurant! I visited this weekend from Dallas and I couldn't wait to go. It was just as fabulous as I remembered! The rolls were incredible and prepared very fast by the awesome chefs. The servers were super nice and attentive. There are now tons of all-you-can-eat sushi restaurants in Austin but this was one of the first and in my view, remains the best!
Saturday lunch. Sushi Janai bucks the trend of other AYCE places in Austin and has a discounted lunch menu on the weekends. There was one server for the entire dining room and she rocked. Truly! Great service despite serving 10+ active tables. Especially considering that AYCE service requires more visits to each table and she was also running food. The food was good. The nigiri sushi was perfectly portioned. The food came out fast even as the restaurant had a large party ordering tons of food with large platters of nigiri sushi. If I had one note, it would be that the rice was flat. No notes of rice vinegar, sweetness, or seaweed seasoning. No flavor whatsoever on its own. I've been to the sister location many times and this was my first visit to the OG. It was well worth it
Just had such a great experience at Sushi Junai! We did the all you can eat option and it was honestly worth it. The fish tasted super fresh, and there was a really nice variety of rolls and appetizers to try. Everything came out quickly and tasted amazing. Shoutout to Elizabeth, our server she was so friendly, attentive, and made the whole experience even better. She kept checking in on us and made sure we had everything we needed. If you’re thinking about trying Sushi Junai, I definitely recommend going for the all you can eat. Great food, great service, and a really enjoyable dinner overall!
